Four releases about my work have gone out on PRWeb and PR Newswire this fall. Two deal with hazards I saw in the fire service and now see in workplaces; two set out the record itself.
Hazards
- Battery storage commissioning as its own hazard phase, October 6, 2026: fire agencies should plan for battery energy storage while it is under construction and being commissioned.
- Wildfire smoke and ash as a workplace hazard after the flames are out, October 17, 2026: the employer’s duties under California’s smoke standard, and the separate risks of burned-area cleanup.
The record
- A 35-year record of honors in fire service and occupational safety, October 9, 2026.
- 25 years of fire service command brought to workplace safety and expert consulting, October 17, 2026.
Publications, public comments and these releases are collected on the McNeil Safety Consulting publications page.
